Gomis Mta – Tea Plantations and a Sea of Clouds

Did you know that Georgia is famous not only for its wine, but also for its tea? On this tour, we’ll take you to the beautiful tea region of Guria, where you’ll learn about the history of Georgian tea, see how it’s grown, harvested, dried, and brewed — and of course, enjoy a tea tasting session.

Next, we’ll visit Shemokmedi Monastery, a peaceful and historic complex that includes two churches and a bell tower. One of the churches dates back to the 12th century, and the other to the 16th century, built by Prince Vakhtang I Gurieli to house a sacred icon from the Zarzma Monastery.

Our final destination is Gomis Mta, a charming mountain village perched high in the Gurian hills — so high, it often feels like you’re floating above the clouds. The views here are truly unforgettable. We’ll have lunch in this dreamy place before heading back to Kobuleti or Batumi.
