The history of Georgia has many millennia and is directly related to Christianity. Today will be dedicated to the spiritual and aristocratic pages of the history of Georgia.
Our tour begins with a meeting with a guide and a driver in the lobby of your hotel. We will make the first stop in our program in Jvari, a cross monastery, to which such famous lines by M.Yu. Lermontov:
"A few years ago,
Where, merging, they make noise
Hugging like two sisters
Jets of Aragva and Hens,
There was a monastery "
On the observation deck, Jvari offers stunning views of the city of Mtskheta and the Svetitskhoveli temple, which will be our next stop on the Route.
Svetitskhoveli, according to legend, was built according to the order of St. Nino, the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Georgian Orthodox Church in honor of the Twelve Apostles, in the city of Mtskheta, which for thousands of years has been the main cathedral of all of Georgia.
Then we walk along the streets of Mtskheta, a city included in the UNESCO cultural heritage, try Turkish coffee in the sand and buy famous Georgian souvenirs.
The last point of our day will be the Chateau of Mukhrani - the Residence of the princes of Bagration-Mukhran. The construction of the Chateau Mukhrani lasted 12 years. The exotic word "chateau" in the name justified itself not only in the decoration of the estate (for the first time in Georgia there was parquet, a piano with gilding and billiards, Chateau Mukhrani was decorated with gilded Rococo-style gilded furniture from Italy, under ceilings painted by European craftsmen, huge crystal chandeliers sparkled, reflected in a truly royal piano with gilding), but also in the fact that wines built here produced European-style wines. In Chateau, we are waiting for an excursion, wine tasting and lunch.
